Job Description

Administrative Assistant/Safety Coordinator

Scenic Rivers Industries, Inc., a sheltered workshop, is looking for a very motivated person for the position of Administrative Assistant/Safety Coordinator.

Job duties include:

Supervising over 30 handicapped individuals daily.

Maintaining all safety records for the various inspections conducted by the compliance agencies.

Conducting routine safety training for all employees.

Ensuring a safe environment exists for all employees daily.

Writing safety procedures and maintaining the Safety Manual.

Performing all payroll and banking functions for the workshop.

Maintaining Excel files for all employees and the various jobs each performs daily.

Driving a van to transport employees in the morning and evening.

Ordering products for various functions in the workshop.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Have a great desire to work with handicapped/learning challenged individuals.

Be a self-starter and very motivated.

A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and QuickBooks software.

Have a Class E license or greater or able to obtain a Class E license within 30 days.

Clean driving record.

Have an outgoing personality and good communication skills.
